David Bailey

He is a British photographer who was born in East London. He shot for vogue several times, who then he became very eager to experiment with his work. He also loved to shoot with women, to do this he got to know the person this was so he could get something from them to create the picture. He would fine the bad and good side of the models face also he would capture their personalities. Style is dangerous as he didn't want to be classed as having a style so his main focus would be on the person. He says photography is about a death which is close to reality especially when looking at old photos were the people in them have passed away. He had an inserts in birds which he then linked into his own photography. His ability has grown from interest and ability to learn as he was dyslexic. He was an assistant for John French fashion photographer who used the white background which then he began to  work for Daily Express which Vogue saw who and then offered him  job. He was interested in an 'outsider' working for vogue.
Bailey worked at vogue and his audience became younger. He understood the coded language of the fashion and clothes. He started photographing and developing when he was young which he was attracted by magical chemical process. His influences were Visconti and Picasso,

He had a friendship with Mick Jagger. He then photographed a variety of famous people, some of them were coloured by Catherine Deneave.

"Goodbye Baby and Amen" was a series of portraits. In 1970 he done a series of documentaries, interviews with artists. He traveled world since 1970's e.g Brazil, Hong Kong, being inspired by other subjects and styles that are his own. In 2010 Afghanistan, he supported soldiers for charity for what they do.
Still life - Momento Mari, dead roses, skulls, bones was a recognition  of own death and the time running out. There was a similarity of living Penn, which linked into John Lennon and Paul Maccaory.

Lives and walls surrounded by people who he loves. He has an in shoot and vision in his work. There was a silent language between the model and photographer, he also adores beauty and women and bring the beauty out in the shoot from their best side. Life is the main subject in his work, he photographs anything and everything.
