Evaluation
For this assignment we were given 6 weeks to complete it. The assignment was call 'The colour of' therefore we could take photographs of whatever we wanted as long as it related to the theme. Also it had to be photographed on both fujifilm and digital this is because we were entering a competition.
I have photographed people with different kinds of animals painted onto their lips, my work its about colour and how animals can looks the same somewhere other than their natural habitat.
My idea developed and changed because at first i thought about doing bright coloured lips and make-up on my models and found that a few people were doing the same. I then went away and researched more into it and found that i could draw animals onto people lips in bright colours to make my work different to other peoples.
I had to use the studio, a 5D digital camera, Fujifilm camera, Paints, Models, reflectors, Studio lighting and also i asked the hair and beauty if they would like to paint the animals onto their lips for me as then it gives them images fr their portfolio and also they have had more experience and i think that the animals will look better.
I had one problem on this shoot which was relaying on my models and then they couldn't make it so then i had to ask more people on the day if they would be comfortable helping me out. Next time i will ask more people in advance so that i have a good range of people on the day. This is because i think its better to over book people as not everyone will turn up.
Rankin influenced me on this assignment because of his beauty work were he has the models with bright lips holding objects into their mouths and also how creative his work actually is. I love all of Rankin's work because its never the same and he always has amazing ideas that are creative.
I am very pleased with my final images because hair and beauty were well organised and my shoot went well. This is because in the studio i had the hair and beauty people doing my models lips while i was taking the photographs of the models that had already been done. If i were to do this again i would have asked more people to model for me.
